We are not each others enemies... we are neighbors ..who may have differing opinions...
There is an ounce of truth in every opinion. No one in their right mind wants gun violence to continue no matter what political party . I am tired of both " parties" vilifying each other . A bad guy with a gun can be stopped by a good guy with a gun ...but there is no place in society for military style assault weapons in the hands of civilians. We don't allow tanks, bazookas or grenades to be held by private citizens... the Ar-14 and its class should be put into that category....and.... Licensing citizens to own firearms should be as de rigor as licensing a car .
I am sickened when I hear conservative commentators call the protesting students left wing shills. Remember that the Las Vegas shooter was a middle aged man who took aim at a country music crowd that surely had a large population of Republicans . I do not want to vilify the NRA. It should and can serve as a valuable asset in teaching responsible gun care and conduct. Guns for hunting and personal protection are not part of the discussion .
I ask my friends who are members of the NRA to express the validity and importance of gun control and to re-evaluate the leadership of that organization.
